A quick post to join the celebration for Emmeline Pankurst’s birthday, the leader of the British Women’s Suffragette movement. Although she was and still continues to be criticized for her violent tactics and protests, she still remains to be a key figure and an icon for Women’s suffrage in Britain and for me is an incredibly brave and inspirational woman.

“Men make the moral code and they expect women to accept it. They have decided that it is entirely right and proper for men to fight for their liberties and their rights, but that it is not right and proper for women to fight for theirs.”
